Just recently bought a 96 Savage with 6000 miles on it. Upon acceleration, usually in 2nd to 3rd gear and up, it sounds like a chirping sound coming from the engine. The service dept at the dealer said that that was typical of single clinder engines, and was possible an intake noise. He said you just have to live with it. Anybody out there familiar with this problem/noise?
